Join PLI! Application is Now Open

It has been quite a year for social justice advocacy, especially combating anti-Black racism. We have re-evaluated our strategies for supporting the community in this moment. Gwinnett SToPP has doubled-down on education and training – equipping parents, students, and community members with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate new and existing challenges to securing education equity. With that in mind, we are excited to announce new PLI The Remix! trainings for 2021! The trainings, in partnership with the Georgia Coalition to End the STPP, From Lockers to Lockdown: Black Boys, Special Education and the School to Prison Pipeline, will focus on decreasing the number of Black boys, particularly those with disabilities, in the School to Prison Pipeline (STPP)- a national trend wherein students are funneled out of the regular education setting and into alternative education and the juvenile and criminal justice systems.

The training and technical assistance are all designed to enhance your capacity to produce effective advocacy, develop strategies for maximizing resources and strengthen coalition-building skills to create better outcomes for students and families within your public school system—particularly, within the DeKalb and Gwinnett systems. The training is FREE! Register  by DECEMBER 31ST 2020 to join the next class!
